Please Teach Us About Prayer

Dear Wisdom,

Please teach us about prayer.

Jesus taught us the Our Father. The Catholic Church teaches many other prayers. The Buddhist sect teaches chanting as the only prayer. Is there special healing in that chanting?  “Pray unceasingly” taught Jesus.

“For what is prayer but the expansion of yourself into the living ether? And if it is for your comfort to pour your darkness into space, it is also for your delight to pour forth the dawning of your heart. And if you can not but weep when your soul summons you to prayer, She should spur you again and yet again, through weeping, until you shall come laughing. When you pray you rise to meet in the air those who are praying at that very hour, and whom save in prayer you may not meet. Therefore, let your visit to that temple invisible the for naught but ecstasy and sleek communion.” The Prophet, Kahlil Gibran

Is prayer connecting people through the ether of space? Is it okay to ask for something in prayer, or do we pray as if we already have that thing and in thanksgiving?  Thank YOU!

Care to comment, Wisdom?

Answer

*Prayer is a form of connecting with the energy of the Source of All Life.

Prayer is not just for times of troubles or fear. Prayer can naturally be a dialogue with your Creator.

Many make their life a living prayer. When some people hear this, they assume the person is holy and doesn’t relate to society. They think they’d never have fun and very rigid in beliefs.

This is incorrect.

*The wise man who lives life as a prayer, knows all life, all thoughts, all nature and man-made is of God.

Those that pray unceasingly are not reciting or chanting words.

When they breathe, they realize that oxygen is a gift.

Every movement is done with help.

Chanting and saying formal prayers help the person stay focused.

*What if you treated life like a living expression of, “Thank you” for the ability to exist with so many gifts.

When a parent gives their child a toy, do they not enjoy seeing delight on the little one’s face and they play with the toy for months?

*If a person becomes aware of all the gifts they are using every day, there becomes appreciation for all of life.

There is the energy of gratitude being expressed. That is a prayer by itself.

Prayer does not need to be formal.

Be a living prayer of gratitude.

Even in troubles, there is something to be grateful for, if it is just knowing God cares because you were brought to life with unconditional love.

You are considered perfect in the eyes of God.

Believing this creates an absolute of gratitude which is a prayer.

Thank you so much, Wisdom, with joy.

            You are welcome, little bead.

Beads are used to count prayers in many religions, such as a Rosary in the Catholic faith or chanting in Buddhist religions.

Every bead is symbolic and needed to complete the circle.

You are a bead in the circle of life.

Everyone is a part of the circle and is needed.

Each bead is unique. Celebrate your own design.

Why not use your bead of life to express that uniqueness.

Each person is the only one who has that special bead. Many never understand the value of their bead.

*Start today with an awareness of how special each gift is.

*Only you will polish the bead.

*Why not make it shine for God?
