Do Not Despise the Lord’s Discipline

Do Not Despise the Lord’s Discipline

Dear Wisdom,

“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Proverbs 3:11

Please explain. Should we relish the Lord’s discipline? Discipline can mean something as simple as turning off the TV so the child can do their homework. Or more extreme measures of corporal punishment. What is meant by the Lord’s discipline? How can we best manage this discipline? Thank YOU!

Care to comment, Wisdom?

Answer

If a person did not care about the life of someone from another country, they would not tell them of an illness or storms on the horizon that has been forecasted.

They definitely would make sure their loved ones knew about the predictions.

When the Lord God takes time to point out the errors of your way, it is for the benefit of your soul.

Man doesn’t put their soul first.

Most don’t sense or feel their soul or care if the path they have chosen is moving further away from the spirits plans.

Human nature is to seek immediate gratification.

The child wants what his parent is drinking.

The father knows alcohol is not good for a 14-year-old.

The teenager drinks behind the parent’s back with their friends.

All get sick.

The teen blames the parent.

Somehow, they think they should have been protected.

If one of the boys had been sixteen and they were in a car accident, the law faults the parents.

Many times God gives warning signs.

If a person got heartburn after eating pizza that is a sign that maybe some ingredient in the pizza is causing problems with the system.

The drug man has come up with a pill to silence the alert.

Now the person can eat the pizza with minimal discomfort.

Is that a good idea?

The system will be under attack and the warning alert has been turned off.

All of the person cares about is that now he can eat pizza with friends.

*What humans want God to do is silence the warning signs.

Those warnings are a gift for the body and the soul.

That is love in action.

God doesn’t want you to miss a turn and drive over the cliff.

Thank you so much, Wisdom, with love.

You are welcome, little bougainvillea bush.

Bougainvillea bushes have beautiful bright flowers but also long thorns with a natural pesticide.

If stuck, it is painful.

One enjoys the flowers but is wary of the needles.

They protect the plant.

*God gives the human warning signs to protect the body.

Do not curse God because of your own unique warning signs.

They are meant to assist the soul.

They are a sign that God is helping your soul.
