Seek Beauty

Seek Beauty

Dear Wisdom,

Please help us to understand the words about beauty in Kahlil Gibran’s masterpiece THE PROPHET:

“Where shall you seek beauty, and how shall you find her unless she herself be your way and your guide?

And how shall you speak of her except she be the weaver of your speech? And beauty is not a need but an ecstasy. It is not a mouth thirsting nor an empty hand stretched forth, but rather a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted. It is not the image you would see nor the song you would hear, but rather an image you see through. You close your eyes and a song you hear though you shut your ears. It is not the sap within the furrowed bark, nor a wing attached to a claw, but rather a garden forever in bloom and a flock of angels forever in flight. People of Orphalese, beauty is life when life unveils her holy face. But you are life and you are the veil. Beauty is eternal gazing at itself in a mirror. But you are eternity and you are the mirror.”

Much of the above is confusing or non-sensical. Some of the above is beautiful prose. Please help us to see beauty in all of our lives. Thank YOU!

Answer

Beauty is not the necessity of life.

It is the gift from God.

Every human has the beauty of the soul that can shine forth which makes the human full of beauty.

If a person truly looks in a mirror and did not focus on what they thought were flaws, they could see beyond the human jacket.

They might see the eternal essence of their soul.

Beauty is deeper then the vessel.

The changing of the daylight hours could have been with no colors.

No two sunsets are identical.

No two souls are identical.

God is the instigator of beauty.

Even that which is mandatory has the signature of life, which is beauty.

Truly, all life has beauty because it lives.

Anything with energy has vibrations of the life that in itself is beauty.

Focus on the beauty around you.

The soul will find beauty in every single breath of life.

Thank you so much, Wisdom, with joy.

            You are welcome little viewfinder.

When people are at rest stops, there might be viewfinders to locate special sightings.

They block out other distractions so one can hone in on a specific site.

Focus on the beauty of life.

This will add more pleasure to life.

Some focus on the negative scenes.

Live with beauty in the heart.

This is a choice one makes.
